Surviving Santa
A holiday calendar packed with endless party hopping can—and will—test your togetherness. Instead of making like two ships passing in the night, check out these tips to keep it together—literally.

  • Schedule it. Plan no more than one social event each weekend for the six weeks before Xmas. Any more and your coupledom bliss will be stretched thinner than the company party foie gras.
  • Nest it. Put down the ribbon curler, Martha. Take time throughout the holiday season to reclaim your couplehood. Unplug the phones, lock the doors and do, well, nothing.
  • Book it. Break away from the never-ending to-do lists and overwhelming house guests by planning a day of merriment just for two. Go skiing and spa-ing and, for goodness sake, build a snowman together!
  • Hide it. Before the big day leaves you exhausted, create a celebration of your own. Buy each other fun (and freaky) gifts and hide them all over the house for an amusing game of hide-and-seek.
