Discover Your Heritage
Did you know that Canada has 14 UNESCO World Heritage Sites from coast-to-coast? Here are just a few of our faves worth checking out.

SGAANG GWAII
Learn about Canada’s First Peoples on this small island situated at the southern tip of the Queen Charlotte Islands/Haida Gwaii in British Columbia. The remains of Haida villages and carved mortuary and memorial poles are visual stories of this Aboriginal group’s way of life.

CANADIAN ROCKY MOUNTAIN PARKS
Start hiking in any part of this famous British Columbia/Alberta mountain range, which includes Banff, Jasper, Kootenay and Yoho national parks, as well as Mount Robson, Mount Assiniboine and Hamber provincial parks. Once you see them, you’ll know why they’re on the UNESCO list.

RIDEAU CANAL
Visit the nation’s capital to see a wonder of early-19th-century technology. This canal stretches from Ottawa to Kingston, Ont., and is the best-preserved example of a slack-water canal in North America.

L’ANSE AUX MEADOWS NATIONAL HISTORIC SITE
Imagine yourself as a Viking explorer as you head to the Great Northern Peninsula, off the shores of Newfoundland, to see the remains of an 11th-century Viking settlement.
