Bar essentials!

Ed uses a large tray on a folding stand that can be easily stocked in the kitchen, set up in a corner of the living room, then cleared away. Barware: ROYAL DOULTON crystal barware in the Saturn pattern (martini glasses, hi-balls and pitcher). Antique-style silver-plated box by GLUCKSTEINHOME used as an ice bucket, available at The Bay.

Bar tool set by TRUDEAU and wood cutting board from Home Outfitters.

For this fall party, Ed suggests cocktails featuring the newest flavour of vodka Absolut Apeach.

ABSOLUT Apeachpolitan: 1 1/2 oz Absolut Apeach, 1 oz Triple Sec,1/2 oz fresh lime juice, a splash cranberry juice, and lemon zest. Shake ingredients with ice and pour into a cocktail glass. Garnish with lime wedge or a slice of peach.

Offer a selection of red and white wines. Cocktail nuts and simple snacks curb guests’ appetites and keep food prep to a minimum.

After dinner, serve a dark roast coffee and selection of liqueurs including 2’s decadent new after-dinner drink, Baileys Indian Summer. Ed rims a glass in honey using a pastry brush, then dips the glass in shredded coconut. He adds ice cubes and pours in a shot of Baileys Irish Cream. The combination of honey, coconut and Baileys is excellent.
