Fun Food Ideas for Holiday House Parties

Serve fun and tasty appetizers in funky dishes. We served some amazing dips and veggies and flavoured oils and hearty breads in Villeroy & Boch’s very cool Tiered Party Platter. An assortment of cheeses are the perfect companion to some high quality crackers or/and fresh fruit. The Villeroy & Boch Party Platter was the perfect appetizer plate as it made mingling while holding plates much easier.

This simple dish of fries, cut veggies and spiced mayonnaise looks amazing when plated on a Villeroy and Boch New Wave cappuccino set (shown here in chocolate drops). This is an excellent snack to serve between courses.

If you’re short on time or energy, these handy, ready-made appetizers deliver big taste. We baked the Cranberry-and-Brie in phyllo and mini quiches to perfection in our Oster Stainless Steel Toaster Oven. Traditional holiday favorites, like ham, turkey and a roast can be mixed with the exotic for a new twist. Most of the food should be made in the morning before the party, but don't feel it all has to be ready before the first guest appears. The warm and cozy smell of food roasting should be part of this atmosphere.

we served baked yams in the larger of the Home Elements Collection Oval Baking Dishes by Villeroy and Boch. In the smaller dish we served Baked Vidalia Onion Dip. We sourced the recipe from Hellmann’s web site: Combine 1 cup chopped Vidalia onion, 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese OR shredded Swiss cheese (about 4 oz.), 1 cup Hellmann’s® or Best Foods® Real Mayonnaise, 1 clove garlic, finely chopped (optional), and Hot pepper sauce to taste (optional). Preheat oven to 375°. In a 1-quart casserole, combine all ingredients. Bake 25 minutes or until golden brown. Serve with your favorite dippers. Hellmann's

One of the most interesting pieces on our table was the Covered Vegetable Dish which held some crisp, colourful veggies and tri-coloured Olivieri tortellinis on skewers.
